Basic Package installation: To install the basic script package on your site
  1. Download the ZIP file containing the Got Drop domain script using the link supplied to you in your download confirmation email. This email should have arrived within 72 hours after completion of payment for your purchase, if it does not contact us.
  2. Once you have downloaded the ZIP file to your hard drive use your zip program to extract the files. The files will be extracted to a folder bearing the same name as the zip file.
  3. After unzipping the script files open the main directory folder it will have the same name as the zip file. Inside you will find several files and folders. These files and folders need to uploaded to a directory on your site using an ftp (file transfer protocol) program. There are many free ftp programs available online if you do not have one.
  4. If you have not already created a database you should do so now and retain the information from the setup including the Host Name (where the database is located), Database name, user name and password. After uploading the files to your site navigate to that folder and the file inside of it named setup.php. For example if you uploaded to the root directory of your site then you would navigate to http://yousite.com/setup.php. If you uploaded to an internal folder on the site then navigate to the file inside that folder such as http://yousite.com/gotdrop/setup.php
  5. When you open the setup file it will ask for four items of information pertaining to your database. These four items are mandatory to setup the database using the automatic setup tool. Enter these items and click submit. From here the database will install itself. If it does not, review the information you entered and try again.
  6. After the setup file has finished setting up your database for you your site is ready to go but the database does not have any domain names in it yet. To correct this click the link that says Populate Database to perform a manual update. Depending on the time of day that you do this you may be short a couple days domain names. This is due to downloading while the list is being updated so do not worry. When the site updates automatically a full download will be performed and the database will be fully up to date. To perform a manual update without using the link or after the setup ahs been completed navigate to the database update file placing your sites download code from your download email after the name dbupdate like this dbupdateTBG657ds9gfb9.php at your site using an address like http://www.yoursite/dbupdate[REPLACE WITH YOUR DOWNLOAD CODE].php to manually update the site. Before going further the setupfile.php file should have been deleted from your site. If it has not, delete it manually.
  7. The last step is to create a CRON job to automatically update the sites database. To do this, follow your webhosts directions for setting up cron jobs. It is strongly recommended that you setup the job to run in the early AM hours around 5:00am Eastern Time or the equivalent where your server is located. For example we run at 04:12am. Common Questions: Answers to some commonly asked questions.
  1. Question: I already have my own reseller plan for domain names and reseller pckages that I purchased from you and need to update the links to direct customers to my reseller site. How do I do this?
Answer: This is a simple fix that will require you to change the id information in a couple of files as listed below.
    • First make sure that you have saved a backup for your site before making any chages or modifications to your site.
    • Next locate and open the file called topnav.php in a text editor. The file is located in the includefiles directory of the script.
    • Once located and opened replace search for the term "Zook" and replace it with your own reseller pckage reseller id. This will change the link to your reseller package site in the hosting reseller link. If you only have a domain name and hosting plan reseller account and not a full reseller account that allows you to sell reseller packages you may leave this blank.
    • Next search for the term "ZookZook" and replace it with your own domin name reseller id. This will change the link to your doamin seller site for the domain name prices and hosting plans link and then save the file to your site.
    • Now open the index.php file located in the main directory. Search for the term "ZookZook" agian and replace it with your domain name reseller id. This id can be found 3 times on the page.
    • Next open the domain-names folder and open the files domain-search.php and ecpiring-names.php. Once opened repalce the term "ZookZook" again and save the files to your site.
    • After finishing these steps your site will now reflect your new reseller account id. Test to make sure that you ahve not made any mistakes though.
